I'm a California Board of Behavioral Science licensed therapist with over a decade and a half of clinical experience. My goal is to help individuals and couples find ways to live life more fully, communicate more effectively, and feel better about themselves and their relationships. My therapeutic approach is thoughtful, proactive, and non-judgmental.

What does therapy with me look like? The therapy process is highly individual. What works for one person might not work for another. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to ensure that the approach is best suited to your needs. Methods I use include traditional talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), somatic techniques, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and mindfulness approaches. My practice is informed by the latest research in neuroscience, trauma, the mind-body connection, and the therapeutic use of psychedelics.

Therapy can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the type of work being done. Short-term, goal-oriented therapy typically requires fewer sessions, while longer-term, exploratory therapy may require more. Most clients find that meeting once a week is beneficial, but the frequency of sessions can be adjusted to meet individual needs. Generally, therapy sessions last 50 minutes, while EMDR sessions are 90.

I strive for cultural competence and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I am sex-positive and have experience working with, and am supportive of, people in alternative relationships, including polyamorous and open relationships.

Therapy has been an invaluable asset to me throughout my life. After many years in a career that didn't align with my core values, I was inspired to pursue a career in mental health. When I am not enjoying my professional role as a therapist I like to kayak, camp, travel, draw, bake sourdough bread and play games of all kinds with my family and friends. To stay grounded I am committed to regular exercise, meditation, breathwork, and my own work with another therapist.

My current professional associations include the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Redwood Empire Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
